SERONGA WANGWE
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
In 2007 he joined Business Connexion (T) Ltd (BCX) from the Bank of Tanzania. At BCX he became an Operations Manager, responsible for implementation and operations of the first shared ATM infrastructure popularly known as UmojaSwitch. In 2010 he became BCX’s Managing Director responsible in managing and directing the company by defining, implementing, and executing strategies to ensure that short term and long-term growth (operational and financial) objectives are met.
In 2004 he was seconded from BOT to Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA) where he became an IT Manager. He was responsible for managing the IT Department and implementation of the first Automated Trading System for the Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE).
During his time at BOT, he was a Payment System Consultant to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) through its East Africa Regional Technical Assistance Center (East AFRITAC) specifically provided Technical Assistance on Payment System modernization to Zambia, Lesotho and Kenya.
After his graduation in 1994, he joined Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC) where he worked as a trainee IT consultant. In 1995, he joined the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) as a Payment Systems Analyst. He became a Project Manager responsible for management for implementation of the Tanzania Interbank Settlement System (TISS).
He holds master in business administration and a bachelor in computer science from University of Dar Es Salaam. He is also an Accredited Fellow in Payment Systems from Macro Economic and Financial and Management Institute (MEFMI) , Harare.
JANET MRUTU
Chief, Finance and Administration
She joined BCX as a Senior Accountant in 2010 and in 2013 she was promoted to Finance Manager and later to Senior Manager: Finance and Administration in 2016 responsible for managing Finance and Administration Departments to date. Before joining BCX she worked for The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) in Finance Department of the Head Office as a bank officer responsible for preparation of financial reports and analysis of business performance.
She holds master’s degree in business administration majoring in Consulting (MBA – Consulting) from Eastern & Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) in 2007, she is a Certified Public Accountant – CPA(T) graduated in 2006 and registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) as Associate Accountant in 2011. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) graduated in 1998.
ERICK NDEDYA
Chief, Information Technology
He joined BCX on 15th February 2006. Prior to his appointment as Chief Officer for Information Technology he worked as Senior Manager for Information Technology Service Delivery Responsible for delivery of internal and external IT services, Head of Call Center Division, Senior Systems Engineer and Systems Engineer at BCX. Before joining BCX, he worked as Software Development Trainee at Exact Software Limited.
He holds a master’s degree of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Dar es Salaam and CISA, CISM and CGEIT certificates from ISACA and PRINCE II Practitioner in Project Management and COBIT 5 from APMG International.
PETER PAUL
Chief, Application and Research Development
He Join the company in 2007 as Systems Engineer, Financial Systems (UmojaSwitch) infrastructure, with main responsibility integrating new banks, installation of ATM and supporting. 2009 Was promoted to a position of Senior System Engineer (EFT Systems) with key responsibility developing new features and new systems into financial system ecosystem.
In 2012 was promoted to a position as Senior Manager for Business Solution managing a team of systems developers developing financial and non- financial solutions for government and private entities. On the same year was appointed as Senior Manager for Applications Research and Development which was responsible to research and develop various business solutions. Involved in innovation and development of various solutions such as Share Mobile Banking, UhuruPay, Local Government revenue collection system, Ticketing systems (Cash & Card), etc.
2021 appointed as Chief for Applications Research and development, which support and develop various software solutions.
Holder of Advanced Diploma in IT and Management from Institute of Finance Management, Bachelor of science in Computer Science from University of Dar es salaam. PRINCE II practitioner Project Management.
EBENEZER MASSAWE
Chief, Innovation and Service Management
A holder of Bachelors of Computer Apllications, joined BCX in 2011 as a technical sales executive, responsible for making sales, letter promoted to a Manager position for sales with a bigger role on management of company revenue targets. In 2015 he was promoted to a Senior Manager Position for Sales and Marketing, with an additional role of planning marketing strategies aligned to Business Connexion Groups strategy.
In 2018, he was appointed to lead a new role, as Senior Manager for Innovation and Business Development, as the market evolved, main responsibility being developing innovative ideas that would be solutions within the market at large, but also responsible in finding cross border market for the innovative solutions developed by the company.
In 2021, Was appointed as Chief Officer for Innovation and Service Management, still active with the prior role, now responsible for maintainance of all support that the company provides to partners and customers.
He also hold a number of IT related certificates in Networking as well as Sales Certification within the technology products.
MILLIE DEWASI
Ag Chief, Financial Services Ecosystem
She joined UBX as a Business Development Executive handling various projects with MNOs, banks and Visa in Tanzania and Southern African countries. She took her undergraduate studies at Swinburne University of Technology Majoring in Marketing with a Co-major in International Business. She has over 6 years working experience in Marketing, Technology and Fintech industry.”
